ABOUT THIS PROJECT
A Complete Renovation,
From the Ground Up.
This project involved a complete structural and interior renovation, transforming the home into a modern Northeast Portland dwelling with improved functionality, safety, and natural light throughout.
The home was taken down to the studs, with all major systems fully replaced, including electrical, plumbing, and HVAC.
The existing roof was removed to create a spacious upper-level primary suite with a large dormer addition, while an additional primary suite was also incorporated on the main level. Numerous interior walls were removed from the basement through the attic level to create an open-concept layout and maximize natural lighting from the newly added windows.
THE BUILD
Refined. Redesigned.
The staircase was completely relocated and redesigned to be wider, safer, and more functional from the basement to the upper floor.
Interior finishes feature smooth plaster-style walls, white oak flooring, three fully remodeled bathrooms, a utility room, and floor-to-ceiling tile work in the bathrooms. Only one bathroom remained in its original location. The other two bathrooms were relocated, along with the kitchen, which was moved to the opposite side of the home to create a more efficient and modern floor plan.
Of the many renovation projects we have completed throughout the Portland metro area, this transformation stands out as one of the most dramatic in both appearance and layout. What was once a dated and poorly functioning home is now a stunning modern Northeast Portland dwelling designed for contemporary living while maintaining character and craftsmanship.

Structural systems

All major systems were fully replaced from the studs out — brought up to current code and modern standards throughout the entire home.
Layout
Open-Concept Redesign
Interior walls were removed from the basement through the attic level, creating an open, light-filled floor plan with newly added windows throughout.

The existing roof was removed to create a spacious upper-level primary suite with a large dormer addition. A second primary suite was added on the main level.
Staircase
Fully Relocated and Redesigned
The staircase was moved and rebuilt wider, safer, and more functional — connecting the basement to the upper floor as a central feature of the home.
Interior Finishes
White Oak, Plaster & Tile
Smooth plaster-style walls, white oak hardwood flooring, and floor-to-ceiling tile work across three fully remodeled bathrooms.
Kitchen & Bathrooms
Relocated for a Better Floor Plan
Two bathrooms and the kitchen were moved to the opposite side of the home — reorganizing the layout for improved flow, functionality, and modern living.
